The climate inside the National Park is mountaneous with a wide range of temperature and ever-blowing winds. The average high is 22°C in February and 5°C in August while the low can go down to 9°C in February and to -1°C in August.

According to the classification made by the German climatologist Koeppen, the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares has a mild rainy climate with no well-defined dry season but with fewer rains in summer. The highest rainfall is in the Fall (April-May) and winters are snowy although it does not snow heavily.

Rains increase westward, 500 mm being the amount of rainfall registered in the east boundary of the Park, while 900 mm is the amount registered in the mountains in the west.

Winds from the west and south-west are predominant and they are stronger and more frequent in the summer.
