Estancia Cristina is located in Santa Cruz Province, inside a national park --Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. It is surrounded by spectacular forests, lakes and mountains.
It offers, via the Cristina Branch of Lago Argentino, one of the favorite accesses to the Patagonian Ice Field.
Lying at the foot of the majestic Cerro Norte (2730 mts.), the Estancia is in one of the most fascinating, legendary and unknown valleys in Patagonia, namely, the Caterina River Valley.
Its privileged location served many explorers and adventurers on their way to the Patagonian Ice Field since the estancia provided them with the help and supplies they needed.
Alberto D’Agostini, Hesketh Prichard, Aime Tschiffely and Eric Shipton were among the many personalities who traveled along the Caterina River Valley.
Percival Masters’ son, Herbert, was a renown radio amateur. His passion for such a means of communication originated an unusual awareness of this beautiful remote place.
